How to Feel Like a Unicorn

Happy Halloween!

Do you ever wonder why we dress up for Halloween?

While the origins of Halloween costuming date back to the 1500s, stemming from Scottish and Celtic traditions, we no longer dress up to ward of spirits, but more to engage a celebratory mood, and quite frankly for fun.

Putting on a costume, and adopting a new persona gives us freedom to be someone (or something) else for the day.

We get to be cute, or scary, or funny, or sexy.

I decided this year I’d like to feel like a unicorn: 100% magical!

When we put on a costume, we suddenly have permission to act in accordance with the behaviors of our designated character.

But what about every other day of the year?

What if we want to feel more confident, funny, sexy, magical, happy, entertaining, engaging?

What is it about Halloween that gives us permission to be what we want to be when every other day we are hiding in our regular lives?

I’ll tell you what it is…

It’s all about our thinking.

If you want to feel happy, confident, energized, funny, festive, you have to think in a way that makes you feel that emotion.

If it’s not a habit for you, what if you thought of those feelings like a costume.

What if all you had to do is try them on?

What do you think when you’re feeling happy?

Life is good!
