I get it! Like you, I am a results-driven woman who wants to get everything I can out of life. I’ve had a corporate career in learning and development, I wrote a book, I’ve traveled internationally, but when I was overweight I felt stuck.
I grew up as an chubby kid who turned into an obese teenager. My mom put me on diets galore starting at age 10, but I always rebelled. By the time I was 16 I was over 200 pounds. I felt like a failure, but deep down knew there had to be more for me.
Between high school and college I started and quit about 100 diets: South Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, Raw Food, Detox, Vegetarianism, Body Building, Body for Life, Cleanses, Intuitive Eating… you name it, I did it.
I felt like I had to take such extreme measures to get results because I had so much weight to lose. I felt anxious every day like I had to get out of my body because it was so unacceptable to be my size.
After grad school, I went on to get several personal training and nutrition certifications. I knew what I needed to do, but I just wasn’t doing it, and I was wondering what was wrong with me!!!??? Can you relate?
The magic happened for me when I realized that restricting food was leading my binge eating problem, which kept me stuck in an endless cycle.
When I learned that I could write my own rules it was a game changer for me. I got certified as a Life & Weight Coach through The Life Coach School, and as a result have been able to create amazing results—still eating fro yo, drinking cocktails, and having a blast at social events, and teach others how to as well.
I help women ditch their extremist behavior, all-or-nothing thinking and create a plan they can stick with for good.
